Products originating
from interchange enter at Marlboro Yard. From Marlboro Yard they
are transferred to Owings by the Southern Maryland Railroad. The
S&P picks up loaded cars from Owings and runs them as a through
freight to Solomons where they are classified for local delivery.
Unused foreign-road empties are returned to Marlboro Yard via the
Southern Maryland Railroad.

Southern Maryland Railroad at Owings, MD. The Southern Maryland
then assembles them with other loaded cars and delivers them to
Marlboro Yard where they are forwarded through interchange to their
final destination.
Packed seafood
and
packed meat products are shipped on the S&P from Solomons, MD to
Owings, MD by 2nd Class fast freight where the Southern Maryland has
power ready and waiting to expeditiously forward these cars to Marlboro
Yard for onward priority shipment.
S&P cars
returned
to Marlboro Yard from interchange are picked up by the Southern
Maryland Railroad and transferred to Owings, MD for subsequent pickup
by the S&P.
